Easy Halloween crochet amigurumi Jack-o-Lantern pumpkin pattern that can be made in about an hour, depending on your crochet speed. Meet Jack, The Jack O Lantern! He would be the perfect addition to any home as fun decor or a gift to friends and family. He also doubles as a pumpkin pattern.

Materials
- Yarn – in Orange, Brown and Green. I used Red Heart Yarn, in colors: Pumpkin, Café, and Spring Green.
- Hook – Size G/6 4mm hook
- Poly-fill Stuffing
- Yarn needle
- Small pair of scissors
Abbreviations
- MC – Magic Circle
- SC – Single Crochet
- HDC – Half Double Crochet
- SL ST – Slip Stitch
- DC – Double Crochet
- INC – Increase a stitch (crochet 2 SC in same stitch)
- DEC – Decrease a stitch (begin SC in first stitch and end SC in next, this is also known as SC2TOG)
Note:
This pattern is worked in a round, that means we will NOT be slip stitching at the end of each row, also note that at the end of the row, the number in the parenthesis is just so you know how many stitches you should have at the end of each round.
Jack-o-Lantern Pattern (Using orange yarn, Pumpkin if using Red Heart)
R1: In MC or use alternative method, SC 6 – (6)
R2: INC in each stitch, x6 (12)
R3: INC in first stitch and SC in next, continue until the end of the round, ending in a SC, x6 (18)
R4: INC in first stitch and SC in next two stitches, continue until the end of the round, ending in a SC, x6 (24)
R5: INC in first stitch and SC in next three stitches, continue until the end of the round, ending in a SC, x6 (30)
R6: INC in first stitch and SC in next four stitches, continue until the end of the round, ending in a SC, x6(36)
R7: INC in first stitch and SC in next five stitches, continue until the end of the round, ending in a SC, x6(42)
R8 – R13: SC in each stitch – (42)
Now we will begin the Decrease round, at this point you can start stuffing your pumpkin.
R14: SC in next five and DEC, ending in a DEC, x6 (36)
R15: SC in next four and DEC, ending in a DEC, x6 (30)
R16: SC in next three and DEC, ending in a DEC, x6 (24)
R17: SC in next two and DEC, ending in a DEC, x6 (18)
R18: SC in next stitch and DEC, ending in a DEC, x6 (12)
R19: DEC around (6)
FO and weave your yarn around the top of each stich and pull to close.
How To do it
- With yarn already in your yarn needle, insert your needle through the center of your piece. This will give your piece a small dent at the top.
- Next you will bring your needle and yarn around the front of your piece and insert it back into the center. Pull gently to create a dent.
There should be exactly six dents with a space of seven stitches between each dent, at the top.
Let’s Create a Stem (Using brown yarn, Café if using Red Heart)
R1: In MC, SC six -(6)
R2 – R5: SC in each stitch (6)
Fasten off and leave a long tail, for sewing.
Let’s Create a Leaf (Using green yarn, Spring Green if using Red Heart)
R1: Chain 8, SL ST in second chain from hook, SC in next stitch, HDC in next, DC in next, HDC in next, SC in next and SL ST in last stich.
Fasten off and leave the tail for sewing.
Eyes (2) (Using black yarn)
R1: Chain 2, two SC in second chain from hook, chain 1 and turn, SC in first SC and INC in next stitch – (3)
R2: Chain 1, SC in next two stitches and INC in last – (4)
Fasten off and leave the tail for sewing.
Nose (Using Black Yarn)
R1: Chain 2, two SC in second chain from hook, chain 1 and turn, SC in first SC and INC in next stitch – (3)
Fasten off, leave the tail for sewing.
Now it’s time to assemble your Jack O Lantern! This is my favorite part.
Sew your stem to the top center of your pumpkin.
Add your the leaf to one side of the stem.
Attach the triangle eyes to the front of your pumpkin, 5 stitches apart.
Place the nose in between the eyes.
Embroider a smile and your pumpkin is finished.
You can also use felt to create the eyes and the nose.
