This easy crochet amigurumi cupcake pattern is great for beginners of amigurumi. Whether you are starting out or brushing up on your skills, this pattern is perfect to start out with. I have always had an affinity for cupcakes, and I cannot wait to see all of your makes.

Materials

- Hook: Any size works, but for this I used a 4mm hook
- Yarn: Any brand or color, I used Red Heart Yarn
- Scissors: Small cutting scissors
- Yarn needle: To sew in ends
- Stitch Markers: Optional but they help you remember rows
- Stuffing: Poly-fil, or even yarn scraps work

- MC – Magic circle
- yo – Yarn cver
- ch – chain
- inc – increase
- dec – decrease
- slst – slip stitch
- sk – skip
- blo – back loop only
- flo – front loop only
- fo – fasten off

Amigurumi Cupcake Body
R1: In MC Ch 1 and SC 6 into the center, an alternative is create a slipknot, and CH 2, SC 6 in second chain from hook (That’s the first chain you made) (6)
R2: INC in each SC (12)
R3: INC in first ST, SC in next, and then again 5 more times (18)
R4: INC in first ST, SC in next two STS, and then do this again 5 more times (24)
R5: INC in first ST, SC in next three STS, and then do this again 5 more times (30)
R6: IN BLO, SC around (30}
R7 – R12: SC around (30)
FO and sew in ends
Amigurumi Cupcake Frosting
R1: In MC Ch 1 and SC 6 into the center, an alternative is create a slipknot, and CH 2, SC 6 in second chain from hook (That’s the first chain you made) (6)
R2: INC in each SC (12)
R3: INC in first ST, SC in next, and then again 5 more times (18)
R4: INC in first ST, SC in next two STS, and then do this again 5 more times (24)
R5: INC in first ST, SC in next three STS, and then do this again 5 more times (30)
R6 – R8: SC around (30)
R9: In FLO, DC 4, SK next, SLST in next, continue around, the last stitch should be a SLST
FO and leave a long tail for sewing
Assemble
Stuff your cupcake body lightly and then begin to sew on the frosting through the front loops of the frosting and back loops of the cupcake. Keep stuffing lightly until your cupcake feels plusher. You can even add a cute face before sewing and stuffing. These are a few of the ones I’ve made.
